Directed by Rob Ormsby (The Wizard of Oz; Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat; Shrek) and with our songbird Jen Church back in the Musical Director's chair (Shrek), this was a fresh take on the iconic true story of love, oppression and freedom.

Synopsis

In 1930’s Austria, Hitler has just ordered the Austrian Chancellor to join a Nazi-lead Europe. Meanwhile Maria, a young postulant nun from Nonnberg Abbey is commissioned to serve as governess to the wealthy Von Trapp family. Here, she transforms the household of 7 motherless children from a place of military discipline to one filled with joy, laughter and of course, music.

However, the clouds of war are gathering. In a test of faith, will Maria ever be truly free? Based on the true story of the Von Trapp Singers, this classic show is one of the world's most loved musicals.
